SUMMARY: The Events Director supports and manages guest services, events, home keeping, and dining room. This person should have a detailed understanding of the full Microsoft Office suite, be able to proactively solve problems and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.

SALARY RANGE: $70K - $75K DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Contribute to the vision for the development of the programs and property of Sunrise Ranch by participating on the Sunrise Ranch Development Advisory Team.
  • Create a year-round calendar of events that engages people in an experience of renewal, learning, and transformation.
  • Create a beautiful welcoming atmosphere for staff, participants, visitors, and residents.
  • Optimize the participants experience of Sunrise Ranch, creating loyal clients.
  • Support event leaders to offer the optimal experience to their participants.
  • Develop strong relationships between event leaders and Sunrise Ranch, making us a desirable context for their work.
  • Effectively oversee the hosting of events from start to finish, including external event leaders events, events developed by Emissaries of Divine Light, and other events developed by Sunrise Ranch.
  • Plan the financial performance of the department.
  • Optimize the net income of the department, increasing revenue and managing expense.
  • With the Human Resource Department and senior management, hire, train, support, and retain staff to contribute at a high level to the department.
  • Develop, teach, and maintain quality administrative processes for the Events Department.
  • Oversee marketing of non-EDL programs, sales, contracts, event logistics, guest services, audio/visual, and housekeeping.
  • Work harmoniously with other departments of Sunrise Ranch, especially maintenance, information technology, and human resources.
  • Communicate supportively and lovingly to new sales leads, staff, and guests in all cases.
  • Offer visionary, inspirational leadership for the Events Department.
  • Report to the Operations Director.
  • As a member of the staff of Sunrise Ranch, contribute to the overall success and fulfillment of our mission through:
  • Creative, uplifting expression that inspires others
  • Enthusiastic contribution to the fabric of the Sunrise Ranch community
  • Diligent, productive work that contributes to the Sunrise Ranch team effort

  • Clear supportive surround for guests, visitors, and short-term staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 5 years of event experience
  • Ability to see and organize the big picture pertaining to the department
  • Very strong ability to prioritize
  • Ability to manage people
  • Very strong ability to handle a large scope of details and follow-up to completion
  • Thrive under pressure
CONDITIONS:
  • Work Availability: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, exact hours negotiable. 24/7 availability.
