As the Salesforce Administrator at Purdue Research Foundation, you'll primarily function as an entry-level Salesforce Admin while also engaging in analytical tasks. This role is a mid-tier role structured to give you opportunities to develop your administrative skills while performing analytical duties.

Essential Functions
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Configure and customize Salesforce to meet Purdue Research Foundation’s requirements, such as creating custom objects, fields, page layouts, and process automation.
- Analyze current user’s user roles, profiles, and permission sets to troubleshoot and understand current level of user access levels to comply with established security requirements.
- Provide ongoing support and training to users, addressing questions and issues, and serving as Tier 2 support for common queries.
- Collaborate with Purdue University Salesforce Administrators to design and implement Salesforce solutions, including integrations with other systems and applications.
- Stay updated on Salesforce updates, new features, and best practices, evaluating their impact on Purdue Research Foundation’s operations and making recommendations accordingly.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system requirements, process flows, and user guides, to support effective utilization of Salesforce across the foundation.
- Collaborate with Purdue University Salesforce Administrators for code reviews and Devops processes for moving development work between multiple sandbox environments and production.
- Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders across various departments to understand business needs and processes.
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights to inform decision-making and optimize Salesforce solutions.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to track key metrics and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
- Participate in Purdue Salesforce sprint cycles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Agile methodologies and facilitate the timely delivery of Salesforce-related tasks within the Agile framework.
- Perform ongoing data maintenance tasks within the Salesforce platform, including identifying and rectifying data inconsistencies, duplicates, and inaccuracies to uphold data integrity and enhance system reliability, as well conduct routine data imports.
- Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions to ensure effective use of Salesforce features.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proficiency in Salesforce configuration, customization, and administration, including creating custom objects, UI design, and fields.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making and optimize Salesforce solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across different departments and levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work and maintaining data integrity within the Salesforce platform.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.
- Efficiency in Flow Builder and SQL/SOQL.
- Familiarity with Higher Education Data Architecture (HEDA) or experience working in an educational institution.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of data management best practices and experience with data analysis tools.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role providing user support and training.
- Experience with Marketing Cloud.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Salesforce administration or related roles.
