Job Summary:

The process technician is responsible for the setup, safety, Processing, and basic maintenance of molds, machines, and production equipment as necessary. As a blow mold technician, you monitor the molding from start to finish while reducing set-up times, stabilizing part processes, monitoring and controlling process changes.

Responsibilities:

· Actively communicates with co-workers - key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.

· Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions.

· Set-up, operate and adjust molding machines for production.

· Preventative maintenance on all molds

· Track breakdowns and repairs on molds

· Track process data as required on appropriate forms.

· Collects data from process capability and stability.

· Solve basic molding machine operating problems.

· Conduct raw material evaluations as required.

· Improve and maintain machine cycles to meet or exceed standards.

· Coordinate with quality and production for troubleshooting and resolving daily production problems.

· Assist in machine and mold qualification and capability studies.

· Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately, or if appropriate personnel need to be called.

· Maintains 5S environment in work area.

· Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.

· Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.

· Review the manufacturing process schedule.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot minor problems in the manufacturing process.

· May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

· Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

· Ability to work flexible schedules and nights.

Preferred Education and Experience:

· Associate degree.

· At least three years of hands-on experience as process technician in manufacturing.

· Experience with industrial equipment, preferably in blow mold processing.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods. They will also frequently be required to use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Factory and warehouse temperature may significantly vary based on the seasons with noise levels. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
