The Facilities Maintenance Associate position is responsible for maintaining general items within our facility, primarily related to asthetics, such as painting walls both inside and outside, general groundskeeping (including landscape maintenance), changing light bulbs, light carpentry, light plumbing, and assisting maintenance technicians with other projects.


Specific Duties:

· Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting walls both inside and outside, general groundskeeping (including landscape maintenance), changing light bulbs, light carpentry, and light plumbing.

· Assist maintenance technicians with other projects as needed.

· Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with established safety procedures.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, they must have good communication skills, and be willing to multi task as well as move quickly from one project to another when priorities dictate the need. Candidates for this position will be required to pass a drug screen and have a favorable result in their background screening.

 

Education and/or Experience :

1-2 years of experience in general maintenance.

Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

Language:

 

Ability to read and understand documents and apply procedures in English.

Mathematical Skills:

The ideal candidate should have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

Reasoning:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited direction exists.

Other Skills and Abilities:

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Good time-management skills.

· Great interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently. Sound decision-making skills.

· Strong attention to detail

 

Physical Demands:

· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee may conduct work above their head using reach equipment or may be required to complete work below their line of sight.

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

Employees work both indoors and outside at a manufacturing processing facility. Indoor areas may either be extremely warm or extremely cold, depending on the facility. Work areas may be noisy and adequate PPE is provided and required. Work may be conducted near moving equipment, requiring that the individudal stay alert to surroundings.
