They're seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to add to their team of dedicated, trusted, experienced, & professional personnel. The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the Finance team, responsible for completing a variety of tasks with a focus on payroll and expense. Due to the rapid growth of the company, this position will be dynamic and this role should be undertaken by someone willing to pivot quickly and always pitch in when needed.


General Accounting:

Willingness to understand the business and industry in order to apply the correct accounting guidance.

Monthly review and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts.

Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements ensuring completeness and correctness.

Lend support to other individuals on the Finance team when necessary, working collaboratively to ensure a timely monthly close.

Identify areas of opportunity for analysis based on available data and business operations both within the Finance department and in collaboration with other departments.

Create/compile financial reports to help identify trends, track patterns, and make recommendations.

Ad hoc projects as assigned.


Payroll Accounting:

Using ADP reports, prepare and enter journal entries into the accounting system for bi-weekly payroll.

Prepare and enter monthly payroll accruals and bonus accruals.

Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including benefits and tax accounts.

Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and alignment of payroll with financial records.

Coordinate with HR to ensure accuracy of employee benefit invoices.

Review monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and enter any necessary adjustments or identify any anomalies.

Assist in the setup of new tax accounts as needed and remit any manual payments required.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive and personal information.


Expense Accounting:

Review expense transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring the accuracy of ledgers and resolving any discrepancies.

Generate and provide accounts payable reports and summaries for management review, including aging reports and cash flow projections.

Prepare and process payments to vendors and suppliers through various methods.

Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues or discrepancies.

Maintain various expense related P&L and balance sheet accounts.

Assist in the development of expense budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads.


Skills & Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

3-5 years of experience in general accounting preferably.

Payroll accounting experience a plus, but not required.

Solid understanding of general ledger and GAAP accounting practices.

Strong ERP skills; Microsoft Office products, G-Suite products, CRM software.

Team player with strong collaborative and communication skills, comfortably work with cross functional teams.

Ability to work independently with speed, accuracy, and quality.

Must be proactive, detail oriented, and well-organized.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage assignments in a fast-paced high velocity environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to multitask, think outside the box, pivot quickly, and apply critical-thinking skills to situations.

Ability to breakdown complex problems.

Ability to establish positive working relationships.


Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience/ 70K.

Benefits are available after 90 days of employment.
