Position: Manufacturing Engineer III / Analytical Instrumentation EngineerLocation: Pearl River, NY 10965Duration: 3 Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Onsite Shift Timings: 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM or 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM (Some flexibility is available as needed) What will you do?
  • Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of Multi-Vendor (MVS) CAT II designation instrumentation with a focus on the following:
  • Chromatography (Cytiva AKTA FPLC, Agilent & Waters HPLC, Waters UPLC)
  • Liquid Handlers (Agilent BRAVO)
  • Cell Counters (Beckman ViCell XR)
  • Thermo Corona CAD
  • Shimadzu UV-Vis
  • Other areas of focus include but are not limited to Kuhner shakers, Millipore Air Samplers, Water Purification, and backup support for on-site CAT I Engineers (incubators, centrifuge, plate washers, etc.)
  • Must be client-focused, working in conjunction with other ULS teams and Sales.
  • Must be proficient with the use of customer management software to track service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks.
  • Review reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning products to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine the source of the problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Analyzes Chemistry and instrument reports in the process of diagnosing technical or application problems.
  • Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
How will you get here?
  • Education Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Sciences or related field preferred
  • Looking for someone that has some engineering experience doing planned and unplanned work. Preferably HPLC trained.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer is preferred, particularly working with analytical instrumentation, particularly Chromatography.
  • Hands-on experience with benchtop laboratory instrumentation systems
  • Effective communication skills and establishing good customer rapport are essential
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
  • Must be available to travel overnight up to 10% within the territory or other areas as required.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs with assistance on occasion.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25-30 lbs continuously throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily in a service function.
  • Ability to travel overnight at a minimum of 10%, after the initial training period
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
