It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

We are seeking a deeply technical and highly-skilled Product Manager to join our team and drive the Financial Platform’s (FinPlat) Technical Product Management Strategy within our card issuing and ledgering domains, bringing to the role a robust understanding of the intersection between platform card capabilities and transaction ledgering. The Cash App Card program is the 4th largest debit card program in the US, presenting a unique opportunity to influence and drive one of the widest-reaching card products in the market today.
Within the FinPlat Issuing domain, the team ensures the financial infrastructure that supports the Cash App Card products runs reliably, flexibly, and can scale quickly. Additionally, the team supports the Square Banking debit card. As a Product Manager for Cash App’s Financial Platform, you will report to the FinPlat Technical Product Lead, and will be responsible for developing the core capabilities that help FinPlat customers ship remarkable card products. Additionally, millions of card transactions touch our ledger product, and your ability to understand the complexities of platform card issuing capabilities and the associated use cases of how these card transactions are ledgered will be crucial to this role. The team responsible for Cash App’s Ledger, also supports numerous product use cases outside of the Cash App Card, providing a vast opportunity for you to become an expert on all sides of Cash App’s business, looking after the billions of transaction events that are ledgered monthly
You will also be responsible for driving the enhancement of FinPlat’s Issuing infrastructure to integrate seamlessly and efficiently with new partners across all key areas of our card issuing stack, e.g. Issuer/Processors & Sponsor Banks, managing upstream and downstream impacts, as well as creating partner-agnostic APIs that still feel bespoke to individual use cases.
You will drive platform initiatives from inception through execution. You’ll identify opportunities to consolidate and improve capabilities and drive adoption to help all our customers and teams go faster. You’ll look ahead of our current state to anticipate the future needs of Cash App’s Banking business, and build to get us there. In this role you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Financial Operations & Partnerships, Product Data Science, and upstream Consumer-facing Product teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful delivery.
You will:
Drive adoption, usage and performance of FinPlat’s Issuing capabilities
Have the technical chops to transform business requirements to technical guidance, partnering closely with engineering teams to define a vision for core platform capabilities, considering industry and technology trends.
Own OKRs and build a roadmap for your platform capabilities based on the needs of future financial product launches, and our ambitions for scale and speed to market
Own key metrics (KPIs) of the platform’s adoption and performance, and work to develop a measurement feedback loop into the roadmap to continuously improve
Influence key stakeholders throughout Block in order to align intent, team capacity, and prioritization across the most important business priorities
Operate cross-functionally within our matrix-based organization and team structure, and build strong partnerships both within Cash App and Square Banking as you collaborate with Engineering, Financial Operations, Consumer Product and Data Science teams, to drive product development efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Foster an environment that enables the team to execute quickly while maintaining a high standard for quality
Manage the entire platform product lifecycle from ideation, to planning, execution and launch
Develop, execute and continually refine the Issuing and Ledgering platform North Star product strategies, aligned with Cash App and FinPlat’s overall business goals and objectives.
Coordinate release activities, including feature rollout, testing, and documentation, to ensure successful product launches.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with Issuing and Ledgering platform product development and delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Communicate product updates, milestones, and priorities to internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering transparency and alignment, on a regular cadence
You have:
8+ years experience in Technical Product Management in the Financial Technology industry, with a focus on US banking platform products for large-scale & feature-rich card programs
Experience driving platforms and systems including experience with building 0-1 platforms
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the banking industry, with specific focus on debit and credit card products
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with ease.
