Position: Outside Service Supervisor

Department: Golf Operations

Reports To: Head Golf Professional

Compensation (Yearly):

  • Hourly or Salary (Depending on Experience): $14-18/Hour
  • Tournament Gratuity: $1,000-$2,000

Position Purpose

The outside service supervisor will be the initial point of contact for members and guests. The person will have direct oversight of all outside service employees and will work alongside the golf professional staff to ensure that a high level of service is being maintained. The ideal candidate will be pro-active, and service oriented with a leadership mentality.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure that all opening and closing procedures are completed daily.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Assist professional staff with maintaining pace of play as needed.
  • Create an efficient staff schedule to assign duties for all outside service staff.
  • Supervise the set up and organization of golf carts for tournament play in conjunction with the golf professional staff.
  • Train, motivate, guide & discipline staff.
  • Oversee the management of golf cart fleet:
    • Stage golf carts at staging area, and return to storage at the end of the night
    • Place golf carts on chargers in proper rotation
    • Document mechanical & cosmetic problems
    • Account for all golf carts at the end of the day
    • Detail and maintain cart cleanliness regularly
    • Monitor cleanliness of cart barn
  • Oversee practice facility as follows:
    • Review for appropriate setup daily
    • Monitor quality and cleanliness of range balls
    • Monitor and supervise the use of the driving range ensuring member use only
    • Ensure chipping area & range is regularly picked
    • Be able to perform maintenance on picker and ball washer

Other

Regular attendance is expected in conformance with the standards established by The Patriot Golf Club. Due to the cyclical nature of the golf industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to reflect the business needs of the club.

Upon employment all employees are required to fully comply with The Patriot Golf Club rules and regulations for the safe, efficient operation of the club. Employees who violate club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Ability to communicate with at a high level with members, guests and fellow employees. Provide guest service and follow instructions.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various reports on a timely basis.

  • Solid leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Current driver license and reliable transportation
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous private club experience desired
  • Previous supervisory experience desired
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn/operate Microsoft office

Education

Any combination of education or experience equivalent to the graduation of high school or any other combination of education, training of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform to the position standards. High school diploma required.

Experience

Minimum 6 months experience in golf operations is required.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 pounds, bend, run or sprint short distances; stand for extended periods of time, able to withstand exposure to heat, cold, and elements of nature.
