Role Overview:

Voyage Advisory is actively seeking a seasoned and driven Market Director with specialized knowledge in the utilities sector, especially electric utilities. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional performer with a fervent passion for the utilities industry, problem-solving, and a rigorous work ethic. This leadership role demands over 10 years of management consulting experience, extensive client-facing interactions, and recognized expertise in the utilities space. The willingness to travel up to 50% for client engagements is essential.

As the Market Director for Utilities, you will spearhead the growth and development of our consultancy services within the energy and utilities markets. This pivotal role requires a combination of strategic vision, business development skills, and deep utilities sector insights. You will be fundamental in shaping solutions that drive operational effectiveness, sustainability, and customer engagement. Your responsibilities will include broadening the practice’s revenue, leading high-profile client engagements, and guiding a dedicated team of energy and utilities consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Business Development: Leverage leads from sales initiatives and your industry network to generate new business for the firm. Lead the creation and delivery of project plans, proposals, and statements of work, tailoring them to the utilities sector and presenting them to prospective clients. Cultivate relationships with existing clients to explore new avenues for services and secure further engagement.
  • Client Delivery and Oversight: Manage client projects to surpass expectations, adhere to contractual terms, achieve financial targets, and retain proprietary methodologies for subsequent utility-focused projects.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and lead a team of consultants in the utilities sector, instilling our cultural values and ensuring consistent excellence in service delivery. Assist with the organization's recruitment efforts.
  • Solution Development: Chart the strategic course and expansion of the Utilities practice, emphasizing specific areas such as electric, gas, and renewable energy, while formulating compelling service offerings for these markets.

Required Skills and Background:
 
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, energy management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of extensive experience in management consulting, with a demonstrable impact on clients within the utilities sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a multimillion-dollar consulting portfolio, with expertise in identifying opportunities, forecasting sales pipeline, crafting proposals and statements of work, and closing deals in the utilities market.
  • Deep industry experience in electric utilities, with a good understanding of other energy sectors such as gas and renewables.
  • Exceptional business strategy and analytical skills, with a talent for identifying and capitalizing on market trends in the utilities industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the proficiency to influence stakeholders across various levels.
  • Results-driven mindset, with the goal of delivering significant client value, achieving business objectives, and outperforming performance expectations.
  • Professional certifications related to energy management and utilities are beneficial.

Compensation:
