Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team at our Fairfield office. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting senior accountants in the preparation of financial transactions related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. This role is critical for maintaining our financial records and supporting daily financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Maintenance:
    1. Maintain accurate and complete financial records.
    2. Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Data Compilation and Reporting:
    1. Compile financial data to support senior accountants in preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
    2. Compilation and maintenance of monthly working paper files.
  • Financial Analysis Support:
    1. Provide support for weekly and monthly financial forecasting and budgeting activities.
    2. Perform various analyses and account reconciliations.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    1. Provide office support including collecting and distributing mail to appropriate personnel.
    2. Depositing checks for multiple accounts.
    3. Work closely with members of the accounting team to support projects and assignments as needed.
    4. Other duties as evident or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Other Requirements:
    1. Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
    2. Positive attitude, self-motivated, and willingness to learn.
