Viking Companies is seeking an experienced accountant to assist the Controller in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements.  Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail are important for this position, as well as good customer relations and ability to communicate clearly.  The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Accounting for multiple operating and development companies.
  • Bi-weekly payroll with related governament reports, tax compliance, 401(k), and benefits remittance.
  • Cash management, Inter-entity and outside A/P, Inter-entity and outside A/R (fees, allocations, etc.)
  • Perform inter-company billing.
  • Bank Reconciliations, credit card accounting, and Vendor Account Reconciliations.
  • Organize & store data & information in SharePoint and monitor document retention.
  • Production of monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements, tax discussions and coordinating for reporting year end FS to CPA.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Notary Public a plus (Company Reimbursed)

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 5 years accounting and bookkeeping experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience real estate development.
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation (Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Excel, other accounting software)

 Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Sitting for extended periods of time completing tasks at the computer and other office equipment
  • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
