Responsibilities:- Create a Nurturing Environment:
- Design and implement a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of each child.
- Develop innovative strategies to engage and motivate students with autism.
- Individualized Instruction:
- Utilize evidence-based practices to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide differentiated instruction to ensure every child thrives.
- Collaborative Approach:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and parents, to develop comprehensive strategies that support the holistic development of each child.
- Communicate effectively to achieve the best outcomes for your students.
- Data-Driven Progress Monitoring:
- Collect and analyze data to track student progress, identify areas of growth, and make data-driven instructional decisions.
- Continuously refine teaching methods to maximize student success.
- Parent and Community Engagement:
- Build strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, providing ongoing support, guidance, and resources to families.
- Engage with the wider community to raise awareness and promote inclusivity for individuals with autism.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Special Education Credential strongly preferred
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Proven experience working with children with autism, preferably in a middle school setting
- In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for students with autism
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and experience in their development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with autism
