THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years’ experience for a luxury or ultra-luxury property.

What are we looking for?

  • Thorough knowledge of Delphi Catering and Sales management system
  • Event planning and sales background with focus on social events (weddings, galas & auctions)
  • Thorough knowledge of market in which hotel is competing; ability to generate sales
  • Exceptional oral communication skills to ensure ability to negotiate and persuade guests and staff to achieve results beneficial to operation of hotel
  • Focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions
  • Develop innovative solutions to enhance hotel wide communication of guest & service information
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
  • Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.

What are the essential functions of the role?

  • Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures and ensuring accuracy
  • Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill
  • Manages group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Acts as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event)
  • Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process as necessary
  • Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience
  • Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations
  • Makes presence known to customer at all times during this process
  • Follows up with customer post-event
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • Works to continually improve customer service
  • Facilitates various meetings as he/she perceives necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, block review, etc)
  • Supporting and Coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Function
