Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Director with a passion for luxury resort environments, preferably boutique properties that have undergone transformations. The ideal candidate will be adept at working closely with a small leadership team, comfortable making decisions, and skilled in managing Software (SW), Software as a Service (SaaS), and IT Managed Services partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring our resort's technology enhances the guest experience while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee all IT operations and infrastructure across the resort, including food and beverage, spa, guest rooms, banquet and event space, and outbuildings.

- Lead the transformation and modernization of our IT systems to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.

- Collaborate with the leadership team to align IT strategies with business goals and sustainability initiatives.

- Manage relationships with IT Managed Services partners, ensuring high-quality service and support.

- Implement and maintain SaaS and software solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and guest experiences.

- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect sensitive data and systems, including guest personal information.

- Develop and manage the IT budget(s), ensuring cost-effective solutions and technologies.

- Lead and mentor the IT/AV team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Cybersecurity Responsibilities:

- Develop and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures to safeguard the resort’s IT infrastructure.

- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and take appropriate action to prevent and respond to cyberattacks.

- Implement and regularly update security protocols to protect guest personal information and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential threats.

- Educate staff on best practices for cybersecurity and data protection.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous Hotel/Hospitality experience required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a luxury resort or professional client experience.
  • Proven experience leading IT transformations in hospitality settings.
  • Strong understanding of the luxury resort market, including food and beverage, spa, guest rooms, and event spaces.
  • Deep insight into cybersecurity best practices and experience protecting IT infrastructure and guest personal information from cyber threats.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a small leadership team.
  • Proficiency in managing relationships with POS and Property Management Software (SW) and SaaS solutions (HR, CRM, ERP, and others) vendor, and co-manage the IT infrastructure with and IT Managed Services partner.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to sustainability and conservation practices.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field and/or master’s degree preferred.
