Job Overview:

Position Responsibilities:

As a Nurse Aide at South Mountain Restoration Center, your primary responsibilities will include providing essential care to residents by addressing their personal hygiene, physical, and emotional needs. You will help maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment while adhering to basic licensing standards. In this capacity, you will make informed decisions regarding resident care based on your training and in collaboration with Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Nurse Supervisors, Nurse Managers, and the Director of Nursing.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
  • Work hours include 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Shifts consist of rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays, with every 3rd weekend off.
  • Overtime and travel may be required.
  • Free parking is provided.
  • The Department of Human Services offers excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave, and holidays, along with opportunities for career advancement.
  • Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
