The Kostelic Agency, in partnership with our real estate client, is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Finance Manager.


About Our Client:

Our client is a $100M+ privately held real estate niche company who's been constantly cornering the market in their specific space. They have grown significantly in asset numbers and valuation, recently securing new funding for further expansion.


Role Overview:

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the organization's cash flow, optimizing liquidity, and ensuring efficient cash management processes. This position involves understanding the client's cash position, compiling cash reports, and making strategic decisions regarding cash distribution. You will interface with key stakeholders, including the VP of Construction and Controller, to ensure accurate data for analysis and project coordination. This is a brand-new, individual contributor role with the potential to grow a team down the line.


Reporting To:

The current Finance leader, who is soon to be promoted to VP of Finance They have an excellent public accounting foundation and really is looking for a self starter who can jump in with zero hand holding.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Cash Position Management: Understand and manage the cash position for multiple properties, compile cash reports, and decide on cash distribution.
  • Cash Flow Coordination: Interface with the VP of Construction and Controller, ensure accurate data for analysis, and coordinate project funding.
  • Funding Requests: Determine fund calls or recycling, assess cash flow positivity, manage operating funds, and rent increases.
  • Asset Positioning: Provide information for decision-making and focus on present-day financial details.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting, review variance analysis, and provide insights for improvements.
  • Cash Flow Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor cash balances and cash flow movements, analyze data, and forecast cash requirements.
  • Cash Management Strategies: Optimize cash balances, recommend investment vehicles, and implement cash management solutions.
  • Banking Relationships: Manage relationships with financial institutions and negotiate terms.
  • Cash Operations and Treasury Systems: Oversee cash management operations and maintain treasury management systems.


Preferred Background:

  • Experience in the real estate industry or a background in banking/investments.
  • Knowledge of IRR, equity multiples, cash flow, and generating returns from investments.
  • Experience in scaling operations.


Position Requirements:

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CTP, AFP) preferred.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cash management, treasury operations, or corporate finance.
  • Qualifications: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and data analysis. Knowledge of banking products, treasury management systems, and cash management best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
