Shift: Flexible day shift (4x10, 5x8, Mon-Thur 9hrs w/Friday 4hrs)
Assignment Length: Temp-to-Hire (5 to 6 Months contract)
Pay Rate: Depends on Experience


Primary Purpose and Objective:

The Manufacturing Technician I will be responsible for processing components into finished products, focusing on the production of Veriflow and Veripro molecular diagnostic devices. The role involves implementing processes, maintaining operations, and performing various administrative duties under the supervision of senior manufacturing personnel. The position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture and assemble commercial products, primarily flow-through cassette components.

Operate automation systems for raw material processing and production operations.

Identify and report equipment and facility issues to the Supervisor.

Adhere to safety requirements, cGMP, SOP, and manufacturing documentation standards.

Prepare, fill, label, and package solutions for production and distribution.

Execute both routine and non-routine production operations.

Record data and update inventory in databases.

Clean production equipment and work areas.

Assist in the verification, validation, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and processes

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with 0-3 years of industry experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma/Equivalent and 5+ years of laboratory experience in the biotech/biopharma industry will also be considered.

Experience: Proficiency with lab equipment (e.g., pipetting, spectrometers), and comfort with repetitive tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Skills: Strong computer, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.

Other: Must be willing to travel to the new location by August 19. Must be detail-oriented and capable of performing repetitive tasks in a small team environment.

Team Structure:

The manufacturing team consists of 13-15 members across four groups: PCR team, Veriflow cassette assembly, Buffer team, and Components team. This role focuses on the Components team, responsible for upstream preparation, conjugations, control testing, drying processes, and QC of components.
