Position Summary:

WSH Management is currently recruiting for an Leasing Specialist for a 126-unit Senior Living 65+, HUD Section 8 community located in Monterey Park, CA. This role involves working closely with the Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager. Responsibilities include coordinating daily schedules with the Property Manager, answering phones, interacting with residents, assisting with annual recertification's and move-ins, managing the waiting list, handling accounts payable, overseeing rent collections, and addressing work order requests.


Reports to: Property Manager

About the role:

As a Leasing Specialist, you will be essential in maintaining the financial and operational integrity of our community. You will assist with leasing and marketing efforts, support affordable housing program compliance, and engage positively with residents to address their needs. Additionally, you will handle routine financial tasks, including processing payments to vendors and managing resident rental payments, while gathering primary financial data to keep property accounting records current. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage financial records and support various aspects of property management.

Job Duties:

  • Receive all telephone calls and in-person visits.
  • Listen to resident requests, concerns and comments.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Provide general clerical assistance to community office.
  • Secure resident signature(s) on appropriate paperwork, assist in lease transactions, organize resident files in proper Compliance order.

Our ideal candidate:

  • A minimum one-year experience in a customer service-related industry and one year of apartment leasing experience or a combination of accounting skills/education with customer service experience.
  • Current Yardi Voyager experience preferred.
  • HUD/Section 8 experience preferred.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and sales ability.
  • Competence in operation of telephone, business calculator, copy machine, facsimile, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record and provide proof of vehicle insurance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management).
