Job Summary:

Augmentjobs is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in tax analysis or related fields and will play a critical role in supporting the tax department with compliance, reporting, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations.

  • Financial Reporting: Support the tax reporting process by gathering, analyzing, and organizing financial data required for tax filings.

  • Data Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on tax-related issues and transactions to support accurate reporting and decision-making.

  • Documentation: Maintain and update tax documentation and records to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and responses for internal and external audits related to tax matters.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to tax processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and provide insights on tax implications of business decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in tax analysis, tax preparation, or a related finance role.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ethical Standards: Demonstrated integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or progress toward certification is a plus.

  • Experience with Tax Software: Experience with tax software systems such as CCH, Thomson Reuters, or similar platforms.
