Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Product Program Manager to join our rapidly growing team As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for technical and non-technical program management and JIRA support. You will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of processes and visions. The principal purpose of this role is to ensure consistent program management, on time product release and effective communication for all programs assigned. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Product & Platform Innovation – Governance.

As a Product Program Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Product Innovation Program Management for Mass Markets, Enterprise & Wholesale including Sales, E. Commerce, Network & Field Operations, Customer Care, Marketing, and Finance programs
  • Support the Product Innovation team by managing assigned targeted efforts to completion
  • Responsible for aligning cross-functional teams to implement transformational initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to daily operations
  • Primary point of contact for stakeholders, subject matter experts, and business partners for all product programs
  • Responsible for program management including resource alignment, plan creation, timelines and tracking; issue escalation and resolution; progress documentation and status report preparation and (metrics, summaries, etc.) communication in both formal and informal settings
  • Responsible for identification and delivery of product requirements to IT including
    • Describing the need of the business / customer or the characteristics of the proposed system from the viewpoint of the product or platform’s end user
    • Requirements are written in a manner that IT can action
    • Product requirements are handed-off to IT according to program timeline
  • Align product end users to define Acceptance Criteria based off the product requirements including, minimal viable product, go / no go criteria, and contingency planning
  • Responsible for driving program execution ensuring high quality and end product meets the measures of success
  • Ensure completion of assigned complex programs within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
  • Coordinate with IT to review and provide feedback for high level designs and demos
  • Partner with training to identify content needs and ensure all end users are properly trained before product deployment
  • Drive Operational Readiness in collaboration with Go / No Go facilitation including
    • Verification that product meets acceptance criteria before the general audience deployment
    • Cross Functional test plan, timeline, resource management and roles & responsibilities
    • Business Validation Testing and Operational Readiness Testing support
    • Communication detailing progress, issues encountered, top priority defects and overall health of the product or program
    • Go / No Go criteria, facilitation and communication
  • Partner with IT to provide product implementation support including:
    • Cross Functional resource management and roles and responsibilities
    • Post deployment defect and enhancement management, stakeholder support and training 
    • Communication of deployment activities, results, outstanding issues, and post deployment handoff activities
  • Responsible for delivering continuous improvement, quality, and productivity from the customer / stakeholder’s perspective

Strategic Planning and Team Support

  • Drive long-term modernization and product advancement planning and execution for Sales (Mass Markets, Enterprise and Wholesale), Operations, Customer Care, Marketing, and Finance programs
  • Drive successful execution of product programs in alignment with Brightspeed’s Strategic Long Range Growth Plan
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify, evaluate and prioritize areas for improvement within the product programs, driving modernization, efficiency, speed, quality, transformation, and innovation
  • Demonstrated exceptional presentation, interpersonal, relationship development, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present at the senior most level in the business
  • Support management of day-to-day operations of the Product Innovation team including domain program roadmap, executive leadership deck preparation, communication cadences, team meetings, people & culture initiatives, project / program gap coverage, etc.
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project / Program Management, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross team programs
  • 5+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in product development or telecommunications
  • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Ability to translate technical terms into plain language
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Experience creating C Suite level presentation materials
  • Quick learner with excellent written & verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, context switching, and ability to cope with tight deadlines
  • JIRA Knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in program planning and life cycle development tools

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Deep familiarity with fiber technology
  • Certified Project / Program Management Professional (PMP)-PM or Project / Program Management Degree
  • Basic knowledge of SmartSheets
