The Senior BI Developer will lead efforts in creating sophisticated BI solutions, ensuring data accuracy, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, and Tableau to develop interactive and sophisticated visualizations. Create comprehensive dashboards and reports that provide crucial insights to support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

  • Design and execute complex ETL processes using tools like Microsoft SSIS and Hitachi Pentaho. Develop and manage ETL jobs to seamlessly integrate data from various sources, applying detailed transformations and conditional logic to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Craft and refine intricate T-SQL queries and stored procedures, employing advanced techniques such as permissioning, indexing, and managing data relationships. Maintain and document extensive Data Dictionaries to uphold system integrity and usability.

  • Conduct thorough analyses of business requirements and existing systems to design and model efficient database schemas. Offer expert recommendations on data organization and architecture to support robust visualization and reporting capabilities.

  • Oversee the management and optimization of the organization’s data warehouse, ensuring precise creation, organization, and documentation of data relationships and views. Facilitate comprehensive data analysis and reporting through effective data warehouse practices.

  • Lead and facilitate educational sessions for the client, providing structured meeting agendas and live demonstrations to inform staff about the latest developments and features in the BI domain.

  • Ensure that all visualizations adhere to U.S. 508 Compliance standards. Review and modify existing visualizations to guarantee accessibility, inclusivity, and compliance with federal regulations.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to refine and iterate on business intelligence solutions. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to clarify and articulate application design and implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Utilize a variety of analytical tools to debug and analyze data, ensuring the reliability and performance of BI solutions.

  • Employ critical and strategic thinking skills to address complex problems. Deconstruct issues logically for consideration by development teams or clients, contributing to innovative BI solutions that meet organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in BI development and data analysis.

  • Extensive experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions.

  • Proficiency in various stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and ongoing support for large-scale, business-oriented applications.

  • Advanced expertise in Pega architecture, design, and implementation, with a solid understanding of enterprise solution reusability and portability principles.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Experience working with Agile software development methodologies, with a deep understanding of Agile principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in leveraging Azure DevOps tools and methodologies, with significant experience contributing to Scrum team dynamics.

  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex business requirements and resolve challenges effectively in client-facing positions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in BI development tools and methodologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) are highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $113,363 to $148,875 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
