Primary Job Duties and Tasks:
• Assist in the design and maintenance of applications.
• Participate in requirements management tasks, including requirements gathering, reviewing, and documenting them.
• Support the development of high-performance, database-driven search and retrieval web applications.
• Work with open-source products like Alfresco, Pentaho, Apache, etc.
• Program in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Perl, XML, Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, Hibernate, SpringROO/MVC, Solr/Lucene, Kettle/PDI, and SPARQL.
• Utilize relational databases like Oracle and MySQL, and ORM techniques.
• Understand source configuration management/version management tools like SVN/Git, JIRA, Maven, etc.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
• Demonstrated experience in supporting development activities including application design, maintenance, image processing, information retrieval, and related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience in programming environments, and framework include Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Perl, XML Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, Hibernate, SpringROO/MVC, Solr/Lucene, Kettle/PDI, and SPARQL.
• Ability of relational and non-relational database design, using state-of-the-art tools and methods
• Experience with relational databases like Oracle and MySQL, and ORM techniques, with RDMS tools, like Toad, Jdeveloper, etc.
• Experience in applications’ development using open-source products like Alfresco, Pentaho, Apache, etc.
• Familiarity with web environments like Apache HTTP server, Tomcat, jQuery, jQueryUI, GWT, JSP/Swing, CSS/XPath/XSLT.
• Experience with asynchronous client/server programming like AJAX or Web 2.0.
• Demonstrated JEE application full life cycle development experience including all aspects of Object-Oriented Application Development and Object-Oriented Programming skills and experiences.
• Experience in database design using relational and dimensional modeling with flow chart (Visio/designer 2000) and ER diagrams.
• Ability to multi-task in the software development life cycle.
• Demonstrated experience in medical domain fields. Understanding of drug and medical terminologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements and testing and responsive design.
