Position Description:
LCG is seeking a talented and experienced Mobile Developer to work on various innovation programs and projects within the USDA. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both iOS and Android development and will have a strong background in working within an Agile environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative mobile applications that will have a significant impact on our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Maintain Mobile Applications: Create and maintain high-quality mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices.
- Collaborate in an Agile Environment: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, in an Agile setting to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Code Review and Best Practices: Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices to improve the quality and maintainability of the codebase.
- Testing and Debugging: Write unit tests, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues across various devices and platforms.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and incorporate them into your work.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to continuously improve processes and team performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development, with a strong portfolio of published apps on the App Store and Google Play.
- Strong expertise in iOS development using Swift and/or Objective-C.
- Solid experience with Android development using Java and/or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with a deep understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Knowledge of mobile CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
