Our client, a world leader in diagnostics and life sciences, is looking for "Principal Systems Engineer" based out of Santa Clara, CA.

Duration: Long-Term Contract (High possibility of extension)

Job Summary:

The Principal/Senior System Engineer's focus is on improving reliability and robustness of the microfluidics electrochemical sensor device through failure analysis, root cause investigations, and identifying and supporting implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities:
•Become an expert on the operation of the High Throughput Sequencing Platform
•Collect, manage, and identify initial evaluations for device failure issues identified by users
•Clearly and timely communicate and collaborate across system, device, instrument, and reagent teams in root cause investigation findings and solution implementations
•Help design, troubleshoot, and perform instrument and microfluidic device development in a fast-paced environment
•Good understanding of statistical methods

Qualifications:
•B.S. with 5+ years of experience or M.S./PhD with 3+ in a Bioengineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, or surface/materials discipline
•Industry troubleshooting experience in development or operations of microfluidic sensors and/or diagnostic systems. Experience in failure analysis and/or defect management is a plus.
•Understanding of sequencing methodologies
•Ability to perform statistical analysis of data with programs such as JMP, R, etc. Familiarity with computer programming in languages such as Python is a plus.
