Harry & David is looking for a student interested in Finance, Accounting and/or business analytics for a paid Summer 2024 internship at our Medford, OR location. Our internship offers the chance to join one of Jackson County's premier employers and to apply their education and experience in a practical setting.

The Intern will be heavily involved in improving our current reporting systems and processes with internal business partners

Major responsibilities of the internship position are listed below. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.

Provide reporting, insights and recommendations to management as required.
Arrange meetings with business partners receiving reports to find out how they use the reports (or even if they do) and how they would improve/modify/eliminate the reports.
Analytical manipulation of large databases.
Execute ad hoc and scheduled queries.
Document processes as needed.
Prepare statistical analysis and present results utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
Prepare and improve journal entry and reconciliation processes as time allows.
Gain understanding of the Inventory life cycle and improve documentation.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Working towards a BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field.
Junior level student (or above) currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Be extremely focused and driven on learning and growth.
Strong interest in the application of reporting methods with an emphasis on decision support analysis.
Proficient to expert knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and graphs.
Proficient to expert knowledge of PowerPoint and preparing presentations.
Experience with SAP, SAS Analytics, and Tableau desired but not a requirement.
Experience working with databases and retrieving information from information systems.
Demonstrated time-management and multi-tasking skills.
Be able to handle confidential information.
Comfort with communicating with internal partners at all levels and as well as an external audience
