Job Description: Part-Time Accounting Clerk

Reports to: Director of Finance

Summary of Position:

The Accounting Clerk provides support in the day-to-day finance operations for Neuman Hotel Group. This position involves travel between our three hotels in Ashland.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides accounts receivable support which includes communication with sales team and front desk, to coordinate billing for events and overnight rooms. Printing and mailing statements including appropriate backup material, posting payments, setting up new accounts and maintaining spreadsheet for tracking billing information.
  • Perform income audits for properties (i.e., ensures every income, whether in the form of cash, check, or credit card, is entered accurately).
  • Review and investigate chargebacks and retrieval requests.
  • Assist with reconciling the balance sheet.
  • Balances daily cash transactions and prepares bank deposits by counting cash turned in by other departments and reconciling daily transactions.
  • Performs daily sales reports for department distribution.
  • Assists with other accounting functions as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum one year accounting experience in an office environment is required.
    1. Knowledge of the following software packages beneficial: Maestro PMS, Micro POS, and SAGE 100 ERP (MAS90)
  • Accounts payable knowledge preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software in a Microsoft Windows environment, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take direction from different people.
