The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems within local environments. They ensure the smooth operation of communication networks by managing equipment and providing customer support.

 

We are seeking an individual in the general area of Grand Island NE. Telecommunications knowledge and experience with fiber is required as is a good attitude and willingness to learn. The pay range is $14.90 to $41.12 per hour. With our training program, your will starting pay will be based on your experience and you will receive automatic pay increases every 6 months.

Location and Schedule

The position is located in Grand Island NE. The typical shift is Monday - Friday 8:00 to 5:00. There may be after-hours, weekend work, and mandatory overtime. Travel may be required to other office locations.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Installs, performs routine maintenance, analyzes defects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains complex equipment such as switching systems, circuit equipment, network terminal equipment, and data/digital equipment by using electrical and or electronic measuring devices.
  • Updates work and maintenance logs.
  • Plans jobs and determines materials and resources needed to complete tasks.
  • Reviews and interprets work orders, wiring lists, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings and follows standard practices in the performance of job duties.
  • Runs diagnostic test programs, analyzes defects and/or tests various types of telephone switching equipment and uses various types of testing devices.
  • Keeps work team and managers informed of the status on work tasks, projects, and problems or obstacles.

  • Requires a valid state drivers’ license with current satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel between office locations
Compensation

Minimum Hourly $14.90
Maximum Hourly $41.12

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
