The Role

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for provisioning, installing, and maintaining E911/911, DS0/DS1/DS3 and above circuits. You will conduct tests associated with the installation, repair, and turn-up of T1 and HDSL spans for Hi-Cap and T1 Circuits. You will also handle copper and fiber outside the plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provisioning, installing, and maintaining E911/911, DS0/DS1/DS3 and above circuits
  • Conducting tests associated with the installation, repair, and turn-up of T1 and HDSL spans for Hi-Cap and T1 Circuits
  • Handling copper and fiber outside the plant
  • Reading cable prints and maps and understanding design services word docs
  • Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and test equipment such as Tberds, laptop, HST 3000, 965 DSP, Sidekick, Volt-ohm meter, oscilloscopes, transmission measuring sets or comparable testing equipment
Requirements
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • May be assigned to work out of town for varying lengths of time
  • Requires a valid state driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
  • Wear safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate safe clothing, and follow established safety practices and procedures
  • Work independently with minimal or no supervision
