Clinical Nurse Manager

Responsible for maintaining the quality of patient care for all clinical services, in accordance with the Agency's philosophy, policy and standards of clinical practice, through planning, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the services rendered to families by direct service staff. Responsible to the Clinical Director/Administrator and assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Clinical Director/Administrator.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages and coordinates all services rendered to patients and families by direct service staff under his/her supervision. Supervises assigned nursing staff in the delivery of services to patients and families consistent with standards of clinical practice
2. Assigns priorities to new referrals consistent with Agency policy and standards of clinical practice. Determines a workable case load for staff members using appropriate guides and criteria, such as statistical reports, territory to be covered, complexity of cases, average length of stay, and level of staff expertise.
3. Participation in or development of all agency objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures affecting clinical services.
4. Evaluates clinical competence of assigned nursing staff and participation with appropriate supervisory staff in the evaluation of other direct service staff.
5. Participation in direct service staff recruitment, selection, orientation and in-service education.
6. Provides staff development activities to increase the level of competence and to promote professional and personal growth.
7. Participates in program planning, budgeting and evaluation activities related to he clinical services of the agency; including participation in the agency Quality Assurance Program Improvement Plan (QAPI)
8. Participates in weekend/off-shift supervisory coverage.
9.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:
A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing, at least one (1) of which was in home health or community health program which included care of the sick at home.
