The EHS Specialist supports the leadership and EHS team by planning, implementing, and enforcing EHS policies, providing education and training to enhance understanding and engagement. They handle incident management, audits, inspections, and drive EHS communication through leadership and supervisor engagement.

Client Details

My client has extensive experience in the design, engineering, installation, manufacturing, and service of power cable systems and polymer insulators, supporting electric power infrastructure globally. With a focus on trusted brands, exceptional service, and relentless innovation, they meet the needs of the utility industry. Their product lines include aerial covered cable systems for distribution and transmission circuits, molded polymer insulators for medium voltage applications, and medium to high voltage underground power cables. Additionally, they offer turnkey engineering and installation services for a range of cable system applications.

Description

  • Implement and understand EHS standards, local regulations, site procedures, and initiatives.
  • Manage and analyze EHS data for record keeping and trend analysis.
  • Investigate EHS incidents, identify corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in audits, facilitate training, and maintain employee EHS files.
  • Provide EHS information to customers and vendors.
  • Engage in EHS meetings, manage workers' compensation and return-to-work processes, and oversee the Drug & Alcohol program.
  • Trial training content, provide feedback to EHS leadership, and ensure compliance with EHS policies.
  • Support diversity, inclusion, positive employee relations, teamwork, and budgetary adherence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and comply with all relevant company policies

Profile

Most important qualities:

  • Well rounded EHS Professional within the manufacturing sector - strong for both environmental and safety tasks
  • Passionate EHS employee who is driven and a great communicator
  • Associate degree

Additional:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a warehouse/manufacturing/industrial environment with site-wide responsibility for environmental safety and health.
  • Experience implementing workplace EHS regulations and standards and collaborating with oversight authorities.
  • Preferred: supervisory and training experience, technical/professional certifications, and experience in metal or electronics recycling or related industries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS data management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at multiple levels and manage change.
  • Self-starter with resilience, independent work capability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational, analytical, and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental programs such as Stormwater, SPCC, wastewater, air permitting, and hazardous waste.
