Job Description

Aries Clean Technologies has constructed and commissioned an integrated domestic sludge gasification facility at its site in Linden, NJ. The plant consists of four plant unit operating systems, i.e., a sludge drying plant, a fluidized bed gasifier, heat generation and recovery plant and an emission control unit. Aries is seeking to hire a Planner Scheduler reporting directly to the O&M Manager.

The position will be responsible for leading plant maintenance activities under the direction of the plant O&M Manager, these responsibilities include, preventative maintenance plan development, writing and closing out of work orders, work planning and scheduling, utilizing Upkeep as our CMMS system, plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance work orders in support of the maintenance supervisor, ordering parts and services, develop scopes work, managing contractors and the site storeroom and planning the work for scheduled plant outages.

Key Responsibilities and Important Duties

  • Manages and plans day to day plant maintenance activities of corrective and preventative maintenance utilizing both internal plant resources and contractors. Leads planning effort for plant scheduled shutdowns and forced outages.
  • Maintains storeroom inventory and monitors availability of parts and orders material as required.
  • Works with Plants Engineer to coordinate and plan projects.
  • Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (Upkeep) reports, graphs, and similar data to track performance of departmental and site metrics, manage work order backlog.
  • Generates, maintenance plans, task lists, preventative maintenance task, aligns man-power requirement.
  • Plans and schedules preventative maintenance activities such as equipment inspections, regulatory testing, instrument calibrations, greasing, oil filter changes, fire system testing, backflow preventer testing along with coordinating project workload.
  • Prepares and maintains a weekly maintenance schedule and planned outage schedule.
  • Plans all activities associated with planned plant outages under the direction of the O&M manager to provide for maximum use of available resources.
  • Coordinates and documents the use of vendor services when contractor labor is required, generates scopes of work, request quotes and generates purchase orders as needed.
  • Prepares detailed schedules in conjunction with the O&M and Plant Manager for major and minor planned outages.
  • Liaise with the Aries Project Management team and Plant Engineer to plan and schedule all plant betterment and upgrade projects.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Ten years planning and scheduling experience in an industrial environment such as manufacturing, chemical/process plant or power generation.

Experience

  • 10+ years working experience in operating facilities or related industries with one or more of the following processes: power generation, wastewater treatment, materials drying, gas processing.
  • 5+ years experience in operations and or maintenance.
  • Experience using Upkeep as your CMMS software or other similar software.
  • Experience utilizing scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, P3, P6 or other similar scheduling tools.
  • Experienced with scheduling and planning the repairs and maintenance of plants electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience with generating purchasing orders.
  • Experience with developing scope of work for contractors and managing storerooms.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience in planning work and developing work schedules.

  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting P&IDs, and electrical one-line, schematic, and logic diagrams.

  • Knowledge of plant environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to think holistically and creatively to introduce unique solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
