What you will do

This position supervises all production control activities and provides input to fabrication schedules such that customer commitment dates are met, and fabrication schedule is optimized.  Oversee communications relating to orders, MRP functions/maintenance, and paperwork processing. Interacts with the materials team regarding production date gaps or Quality Control hold situations.

How you will do it

  • Supervises Production Control functions and staff Handles daily issues in support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities in production, and addressing issues Utilizes manufacturing systems such as SAP and MES Reviews and analyzes fabrication production levels and lot sizes

  • Investigate material discrepancies Ensures optimized production plan supporting maximum throughput and efficiency expedites high priority jobs and reports on the status of the jobs Communications with production schedulers on NPI and Engineering Changes.

  • Manages materials master settings for existing and new parts Coordinates with Production Control staff, Production teams, Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering on phase in/phase out materials. Reviews incoming production orders for accuracy and adherence to engineering/production guidelines.

  • Identify and correct system errors related to production reporting, backflushing and inventory accuracy Annual Physical Inventory coordination with Production Control staff and Production teams.

  • Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.

  • Operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.

  • Support and participate in Lean activities in the plant Build a strong, motivated Production Control team capable of consistently managing purchased part and fabricated replenishment signals to meet production targets.

  • Empower the Production Control team to collaborate with production to improve consumption processes to ensure replenishment programs remain successful.

  • Create standard work instructions for production control staff.

  • Ensure adherence to all production control processes as lined out in the Standardized work Instructions and make sure that all team members get the needed training and support to be successful.

What we look for

  • Associate degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.  Must possess thorough knowledge and understanding of modern planning – techniques, manual and automated supporting systems, product line and structure.  In the absence of a 2 (2) year degree in an appropriate field of study, a total of eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience is required. 

  • Leadership / supervisory experience

  • Analytical skills - take data and provide a full story to the management team

  • Excel proficiency

  • SAP experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Preferred

  • APICS certification a plus.

  • SAP Modules: Sales and Distribution or Warehouse Management or Materials Management
