This person will lead a team of product managers, specialists and actuaries to generate ideas for product actions, obtain leadership buy-in on recommendations, and drive the development of new insurance products that supported the strategic business objections.This role is within John Hancocks Product Development organization, which has a well earned reputation for developing innovative life insurance products that benefit customers and shareholders, all while maintaining the confidence of the companys sophisticated network of independent producers and distribution partners.This person will:Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers to conceptualize, evaluate, and develop new products and ongoing product enhancements.Generate innovative ideas for new insurance products and product enhancements, aligning with market demands and strategic objectives.Provide recommendations to senior leadership for product actions, through John Hancocks well established product development processFoster a collaborative working relationship with the Pricing team, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment between product development and actuarial pricing efforts.Act as a trusted partner throughout the business especially with Market Solutions, Strategy, Finance, Marketing and Distribution on major strategic initiatives that involve product actions.Work closely with internal and external distribution partners to gather insights, address market needs, and optimize product offerings to maximize market penetration and sales, while ensuring all products meet specified financial targets.Provide strategic input into products annual planning process, turning insights about our portfolio and the market into action.How will you create impact?Through a deep understanding of success drivers for life insurance products and the highly competitive brokerage market, generate ideas and actions that ensure the near-term and long-term success of John Hancocks product portfolio.What motivates you?You obsess about customers, listen, engage and act for their benefit.You think big, with curiosity to discover ways to use your agile approach and enable business outcomes.You thrive in teams and enjoy getting things done together.You take ownership and build solutions, focusing on what matters.You do what is right, work with integrity and speak up.You share your humanity, helping us build a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone.What we are looking for10+ years of proven leadership experience in life insurance product management or similar role. Knowledge of the US life insurance market required.In-depth knowledge of insurance product development process, regulatory and economic environment, and the ability to drive the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and market acceptance.Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the life insurance market and broader financial services industry. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.Manulife/John Hancock offers eligible employees a wide array of customizable benefits, including health, dental, mental health, vision, short- and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance coverage, adoption/surrogacy and wellness benefits, and employee/family assistance plans.
