Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in Production and/or Product Development, licensing and sourcing including Management within the apparel manufacturing industry.
  • Licensing experience is a huge PLUS.
  • Product Development and experience with running with the design and the full product life cycle.
  • Costing experience, can you cost something?
  • Strong sourcing experience is also a must.
  • Working with big box retailers
  • Proven success in leading and managing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of apparel construction and fabric development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated track record in enhancing operational processes.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Lead all product development activities conducted by the product development team, ensuring the execution of concept, technical design, sourcing, production, logistics, and quality control.
  • Provide daily guidance and leadership to the product development team.
  • Ensure alignment of the product development team with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain responsibility for achieving on-time delivery of quality products and targeted gross margins.
  • Monitor the development process from initial tech pack through commercialization to ensure adherence to critical timelines.
  • Develop and manage product development and production calendars.
  • Establish target costs and conduct final cost negotiations with vendors.
  • Hold accountability for gross margins.
  • Formulate strategies and protocols to ensure products are consistently developed according to established fit, quality standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and formulate product plans for the brand's growth.
  • Create and oversee all bulk purchase orders.
  • Maintain a daily bulk production work-in-process spreadsheet for cross-departmental communication.
  • Maintain transparent communication with suppliers regarding any bulk production issues.
  • Oversee the establishment of vendor manufacturing/compliance agreements.
  • Manage and process all vendor chargebacks.
  • Reconcile claims related to production shortages or damages.
  • Supervise projects related to production rework.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
