Applied Systems, Inc., a global leader in insurance technology, is seeking a dynamic Carrier Account Executive to drive sales growth. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of selling industry-leading products and services to both new and established carrier and MGA clients, helping shape the long-term success of Applied's business.

In this role, you'll operate mainly in an external sales capacity, working with minimal supervision. Your key responsibilities include prospecting, proposing, and successfully selling Applied Systems' carrier-related offerings to insurance companies, MGAs, and Insurtechs within a defined geographic territory and/or product line. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the mission-critical operations of our clients and make a significant impact on the evolving landscape of the insurance industry.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop strategic account plans for key/targeted accounts, identifying key individuals, initiatives, and actions to deliver solutions.
  2. Anticipate and manage problems that may delay customer purchase decisions, compressing sales cycles through collaboration with those responsible for developing product value analyses and purchase justifications.
  3. Utilize a consultative approach to manage existing business relationships, implement sound retention strategies, increase business, ensure customer satisfaction, and handle escalated customer issues through strong negotiation efforts.
  4. Collaborate with other sales executives, consulting, and customer success teams, adopting a team-selling approach.
  5. Establish excellent working relationships with new and existing clients, continuously striving to improve the business relationship and overall service provided.
  6. Communicate customer needs, penetration strategies, and tactics to align company product roadmaps with sales and marketing activities.
  7. Gather market feedback on product performance, industry trends, competitive products, and strategies.
  8. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of client products and services, understanding their practical applications to address daily operational challenges faced by organizations and customers.
  9. Build and manage strong relationships within each customer's functional department management and C-level executives.
  10. Represent Applied Systems by acquiring comprehensive knowledge of all Applied products and services, understanding their application in the insurance industry.
  11. Pursue self-development through selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
  12. Identify and communicate possible improvements in work processes for customers and peers.
  13. Provide monthly, accurate forecasts to the Vice President, Carrier Sales.
  14. Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  15. Follow the Applied Solution Selling methodology.
Qualifications
  1. 5+ years insurance industry experience or equivalent.
  2. 5+ years' experience providing software solutions to carriers and MGAs.
  3. 10+ years successful sales experience, with a consultative/solution methodology.
  4. A proven track record of quota over-achievement.
  5. Excellent demonstration, presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Excellent knowledge of all products and services; market and competition.
  7. Proficiency in using Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  8. Knowledge of Insurance industry and its distribution system.
  9. Solid time management skills.
  10. Ability to prioritize and multi-task multiple projects.
  11. Functional proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  12. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
