We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Vice President of Product Development to lead our product innovation and development efforts, ensuring our offerings are always ahead of market trends and meet the needs of our customers.
Position Summary:
The Vice President of Product Development will be responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap, using a data-driven and problem-solving approach to create innovative, proprietary products that meet unmet customer needs. This role requires strong leadership, expertise in regulatory product development, and a deep understanding of FDA and clinical trial processes. The VP will also ensure that product development aligns with Cymbiotika’s strategic objectives and drives market success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Roadmap Design:
- Develop a product roadmap using a data-driven approach, focusing on problem/solution-oriented products that deliver measurable results for customers.
- Innovation:
- Identify unmet customer needs, new product categories, and novel ingredients or form factors to build a product pipeline unique to Cymbiotika.
- Expand Cymbiotika's portfolio in established therapeutic areas while exploring new frontiers in health optimization.
- Conceptualize and present evidence-based product proposals to the executive leadership team.
- Spearhead the development of a scientifically rigorous product roadmap aligned with emerging research in nutritional science and biotechnology.
- Category Growth:
- Expand the company’s presence in existing categories where we have demonstrated success while identifying new categories aligned with Cymbiotika’s overall goals.
- Research & Consumer Insights:
- Refine and deepen research and insight frameworks to better understand customer needs. Design both quantitative and qualitative research approaches to support product prioritization and development.
- Clinical Studies:
- Lead the design and analysis of clinical studies to gather claims data for the marketing team, supporting product performance and validation.
- Establish and oversee sophisticated research protocols and methodologies.
- Design and implement rigorous clinical studies to validate product efficacy and safety.
- Conduct comprehensive meta-analyses of existing scientific literature to inform product development.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and research organizations to stay at the forefront of nutritional science.
- Product Testing:
- Oversee product testing strategies, data collection, customer surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gain insight into customer behaviors and product efficacy.
- Product Concept Development:
- Translate research insights into product concepts and present these concepts to the executive leadership team.
- Ensure all products meet the highest standards of scientific integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Develop evidence-based educational materials for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with suppliers, researchers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to develop formulations, assess risks, and establish marketing claims.
- Claims & Testing:
- Drive clinical claims and consumer testing during development to provide critical support for marketing.
- Product Launch:
- Coordinate across marketing, operations, strategy, and finance to develop and execute product launch plans, ensuring product success in the market.
- Value Proposition & Education:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to define clear value propositions and customer targets. Develop and communicate product education materials across the organization.
- Product Performance Tracking:
- Establish and monitor goals for product performance, such as customer churn rates and retention. Report performance metrics to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Product Optimization:
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies for product optimization.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure product launch timelines and quality standards are consistently met.
- Strategic Alignment:
- Work closely with the executive team to align product development efforts with Cymbiotika’s overall strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in product development, particularly in a highly regulated industry like supplements, wellness, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and experience with product submissions, clinical trials, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven success in leading teams and driving product innovation from concept through commercialization.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to executives and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with clinical studies, research frameworks, and consumer insights.
