DUTIES

  1. Prepare and record all payroll related transactions in the general ledger such as labor distribution and maintain payroll related schedules in Excel.
  2. Prepare reports and spreadsheets using ADP report function and Excel for budget processes, financial reports, and as required.
  3. Review personnel activity timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with funders' terms and conditions.
  4. Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts.
  5. Manage and reconcile benefit premium payments for employees on leave of absence.
  6. Reconcile employee benefits in ADP payroll with vendor invoices.
  7. Responsible for system maintenance for ADP WorkForce Now and Time & Attendance.
  8. Act as backup to assist with processing semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees, performing manual paycheck and accrual calculations, maintaining and processing employee garnishments, and reviewing payroll transactions and timecards.
  9. Reconcile sick and vacation accrual balances.
  10. Train supervisors on Time & Attendance and payroll policies.
  11. Partner with Human Resources Staff to coordinate any employee-related issues that impact payroll processing.
  12. Other duties as assigned to ensure department objectives are met.

EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum of two years of experience in accounting with cost allocation and payroll processing with ADP; experience with electronic timekeeping systems and Payroll Report Writing a plus.
  2. Must have solid knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, and garnishment laws.

EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; verifiable work experience may be substituted for college-level education.

COMPETENCIES

  1. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs; advanced proficiency in Excel preferred.
  2. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in an ever-changing environment; must have the ability to multi-task.
