Salary Range: 200-250K including incentive

Company: The company is a medical device manufacturer specializing in medical consumables, especially knives and cutting instruments that can be held in one hand. Its main products are knives for ophthalmic surgery.

Overview

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and market penetration of a revolutionary vision surgery knife within the ophthalmology industry including vision clinics and hospitals as well as medical supplies distributors. This role will require a deep understanding of the ophthalmology market, strong sales acumen, strong connection with suppliers/distributors and a passion for advancing surgical technology.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share objectives.
  • Customer and Supplier/Distributor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in ophthalmology practices, hospitals, surgical centers, and suppliers/distributors.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the vision surgery knife product, its features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling sales presentations to potential customers, highlighting the product's value proposition and addressing their needs.
  • Distributor/Supplier Management: Provide products training, and motivate/manage the suppliers/distributors team including features and selling points of the products
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with customers to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Attend Industry Events: Represent the company at industry conferences, tradeshows, and other events to increase brand visibility and generate leads.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the ophthalmology industry, preferably with surgical instruments or equipment.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working for a surgical equipment manufacturing company
  • Having a strong connection/relationship with Surgical Kit Suppliers.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding expectations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and distributors.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to travel nationwide.

Notes:

  • Requires to be at their Torrance office at least 1-2 time(s) a month
  • No Supervisory - but will manage Sales Rep(s)/ Sales Assistant(s) in the future

  • Frequency of travel depends on where you live and which customers you deal with
