A local Nonprofit , committed to making a positive impact in the community is seeking a skilled and experienced Comptroller to join the finance team and support their mission.

Position Summary:
As the Comptroller, you will be responsible for managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role is critical in supporting the overall financial health of the organization and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the Board of Directors and leadership team.
  • Manage cash flow, investment activities, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP).
  • Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Supervise the finance team, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support financial planning and budgeting efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or Master's preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit environment.
    • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
    • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Leadership experience with a collaborative approach to team management.
