This is a newly created position where the ideal candidate will have a mix of public/private with not for profit industry experience. They will be a critical member of the accounting team who is responsible for ensuring that the accounting data is accurate and reported, timely and consistently. This position is remote with limited travel to Maine.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and support the accounting team
  2. Work with other departments to manage program budgets
  3. Assist in coordinating and managing the annual audit process with external auditors
  4. Manage the month-end closing process
  5. Assist in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with all relevant regulations
  6. Oversee payroll process

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  2. A minimum of five years of not for profit accounting experience; preferably with experience with MaineCare or similar
  3. Management experience a plus
  4. Experience with FundEZ a plus. Must be proficient with Excel

Target salary range: $75,000 to $95,000/year depending on experience.
