Project Engineer

Location: North Taunton, MA area

Job Summary:

Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in the design and production of capital equipment and production lines used in the food and beverage industry. They are seeking a Project Engineer to complete 2D and 3D designs as well as assist the lead Project Manager on various PM task. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferrable machinery or equipment MFG, or metal fabrication, will have good 2D and 3D modeling experience and a willingness to take on delegated PM duties and grow within that capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and development of the equipment and related equipment.
  • 2D and 3D designs for sheet metal, components, assemblies, layouts ext..
  • Taking on delegated PM duties from the Lead PMs.
  • Taking part in the installation and commissioning team for delivering the finished system.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and collaborate with vendors; working with the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly team as well as outside vendors as needed. (sheet metal, enclosures, etc..)
  • Work with project plans, schedules, and budgets related to project management.
  • Coordinated with production and manufacturing to ensure project timelines are being met.

Qualifications:

  • AS Degree or CAD Certificate with 5+ years of relevant experience,
  • OR; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years experience in Drafting, Design, or Engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Preferrable some experience with CapEX / Capital Expenditure projects, Operating Expenditure projects or Installation of new production lines.
  • 2D AutoCAD 3D modeling - Solidworks ideally, but not required.
  • Able to travel 20-25% of the time.
