Wheelchair Transport Driver - Job Description

The purpose of the Wheelchair Transport Driver is to provide the best ride and service to our customers. Full-time hours are guaranteed, with overtime available but not guaranteed. Various shifts are available.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Transport clients to and from medical appointments/facilities/hospitals via wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Frequently push people and equipment of 100+ pounds.
  • Safely operate company vans.
Job Qualifications:
  • Must be a safe driver, with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and comprehend English.
  • One (1) year full-time customer service-oriented experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Commercial driving experience preferred but not required.
  • Driver's license for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Must be a friendly, courteous, and compassionate team player with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely lift clients weighing more than 250 pounds with assistance.
  • Desire and ability to adhere to Wheelchair Transport Service's high standard of customer service.
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background check through AHCA.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or obtain prior to hire).
  • All required certifications must remain current and active.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a driving record acceptable to company policy and insurance program requirements.
  • DOT physical.
