SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall appearance and functionality of Marrakech properties, including interior and exterior upkeep, ensuring sites are visually appealing. This role combines construction management expertise with a strong understanding of interior design principles, overseeing residential and/or commercial renovation projects from inception to completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Capital Improvement and Development Projects:
    • Work with the Marrakech Team and Capital Improvement Committee to prioritize projects and secure resources.
    • Collaborate with designers, architects, and engineers to translate design plans into actionable construction phases.
    • Coordinate the bid process, developing the scope of work and scheduling site visits with contractors.
    • Organize all phases of construction, subcontracting contract development, and construction schedules with project deliverables and milestones.
    • Oversee the performance of the general contractor, site manager, and other members of the construction team, ensuring quality control and safety compliance.
    • Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring on-time and on-budget project completion.
    • Assist with material selection and procurement, focusing on design aesthetics and functionality.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high-quality standards and identify potential issues early.
    • Maintain a database of current licenses and certificates of insurance for contractors awarded projects.
  2. Aesthetic Design/Property Beautification:
    • Develop interior design concepts that align with project goals and program needs.
    • Ensure seamless integration of interior design elements into construction plans.
    • Select materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet project requirements.
    • Manage interior design budgets and timelines.
    • Oversee installation and coordination of interior design elements.
    • Assess Marrakech-owned and rented properties to determine needed upgrades and beautification projects.
    • Develop a catalog of equipment, supplies, décor, and furnishings for managers to choose from.
    • Schedule and participate in onsite meetings/walkthroughs with vendors involved in the beautification process.
  3. Manage Furniture Donations:
    • Create systems for donations, including item acceptance, finding homes for donations, and arranging pick up and drop offs.
    • Develop plans for storing donations not being used immediately.
    • Work with the Development Team to ensure thank you notes are processed and donations are advertised appropriately on social media.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Interior Design, or related field, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or renovation project management. Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills required. Must have a strong understanding of construction materials, methods, building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid State of Connecticut Driver’s License

SALARY

$26.23/hr increasing to $28.85/hr after completion of 6 month introductory period.
