- Partner with diverse functions from discovery, clinical, engineering, and more to influence the future state of Recursion and the TechBio industry.
- Leverage Recursion’s technologies to reimagine how we plan, execute, and evaluate in vivo studies in support of evolving drug discovery.
- Impact the future of TechBio by manifesting Recursion’s vision of industrialization in in vivo pharmacology.
The Team You’ll Join
Reporting to the Director of In Vivo Technologies, you will join Recursion’s Preclinical Sciences team which participates in Drug Discovery and the Translation Platform. The team is dedicated to leveraging translational planning in the earliest phases of discovery, enabling acceleration of programs from hit identification to candidate selection. The Preclinical Sciences team encompasses in vivo pharmacology, vivarium operations, DMPK/BA, discovery formulations, and analytical chemistry.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field) with 10 years of experience, Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with 8 years of experience, or PhD in a relevant scientific field with 4+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with design, execution and analysis of in vivo studies to assess the therapeutic potential of new chemical entities.
- Familiarity with current animal models used in one or more of the following therapeutic areas: oncology, fibrosis, neurodegeneration, inflammation.
- High-level understanding of small molecule drug discovery and pharmacology.
- Ability to prioritize among multiple projects and working to advance projects to proof of concept.
- Experience managing external resources (CROs).
Working Location:
This position is full time and onsite based at our office located in Milpitas, CA. Please note that we are a hybrid environment and ask that employees spend at least 50% of their time per week in office.

- We Learn: Learning from the diverse perspectives of our fellow Recursionauts, and from failure, is an essential part of how we make progress.
- We Deliver: We are unapologetic that our expectations for delivery are extraordinarily high. There is urgency to our existence: we sprint at maximum engagement, making time and space to recover.
- Act Boldly with Integrity: No company changes the world or reinvents an industry without being bold. It must be balanced; not by timidity, but by doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
