is seeking a MP&P Engineer 4 in Berkeley, MO.
The Midwest Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and Fleet Support team is part of the company's Research & Technology department
We are an engineering team supporting space, commercial and defense air vehicles programs such as: 787, 777X, F-15, F-18, AV-8B, T-7A, T-45, MQ-25, KC-46, P-8, B-52, B-1, KC-135, Executive Transport platforms, Commercial Crew Transportation, Space Launch, and weapon systems
Our team is responsible for NDE Engineering supporting of pre-production, current production, and post-production efforts.Job Responsibilities:Defines requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products
Leads production of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes
Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
Promotes standardization across business activities
Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
Leads development and qualification of new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Integrates new technologies as appropriate
Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
Conducts complex analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes
Implements corrective and preventive actions
Leads design, development and qualification of sophisticated computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements
Works under minimal supervision.Along with supporting the aforementioned space commercial and defense programs the team provides supplier standup/certification, fabrication support/trouble-shooting and fleet support activities across the Boeing value stream
The team also conducts NDE research and development for both internal and external customers.
Job Responsibilities:Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods/approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles, in developing new and novel methods/approaches to address affordability and supportability objectivesDevelop new sensor technology and testing systems for nondestructive evaluation (NDE) applied to manufacturing and support areasDefine requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their useLead the development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processesMaintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligationsEvaluate emerging technologies for potential application to address business needsLeads development, validation and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirementsManages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirementsUses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirementsIncorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areasSupports the Team Lead and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g
PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard9 years of Experience in engineeringExperience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)Active / Current Secret U.S
