PATIENT ACCESS SPECIALIST I

The Patient Access Specialist I (PAS I) will check-in patient upon arrival, identify correct patient information in Hospital Systems, verify patient demographic data, and edit as needed. The PAS I will accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit and will present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure. The PAS I will complete all check-in files and manage all appropriate processes specific to the patient and their visit. The PAS I will collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due. The PAS I must be willing to report back to work during any emergency situation, this includes if needed during inclement weather, mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. The PAS I will complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Assessment of overall credit worthiness by review of a consumer credit report is required .
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
Experience:
- One year experience working with health insurance preferred.
- One year experience in patient registration in a medical environment preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Medical Terminology certification preferred.
Special Skills:
- Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong PC skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
