Other Info: This bulletin is posted to establish or add to a Qualified Candidate Pool(QCP)Basic FunctionProvides executive direction for the development of all department goals and objectives and sets the strategic direction for the agency with regards to Marketing; responsible for providing executive direction for the overall management of the department, including development of the annual budget, staff development, and the successful execution of all marketing efforts.Example Of DutiesLeads Marketing department′s strategy development and execution; aligns department goals with agency goalsOversees the development and management of the Metro brandLeads the development and execution of the agency′s social media strategyDirects efforts to secure and expand external advertising revenue for Metro′s present and future properties and assets, Metro-sponsored activities and events, or special projects as directed by the Metro Board of DirectorsCollaborates with Communications leadership and Chief Communications OfficerLeads the Marketing Department′s budget development and management, including proactively evaluating and optimizing resources on an ongoing basisAnalyzes the department′s operations to identify successes and areas for improvement, and modifies processes as necessary to provide a clear path for the team to be successful and to ensure alignment with Metro's mission and goalsDirects the development and implementation of work plan goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for assigned function, and monitors progressConsults with and recommends to Metro management, Board of Directors, and municipal and transportation officials on the direction, progress, preparation, and funding of customer related policies and programsDevelops and directs coordination of marketing and promotional programs and policies, including negotiating contractual agreements with private entities, as well as other public agenciesManages and executes advertising contractEstablishes and maintains relationships with Metro Board members and their staff; regional and local elected officials; and business, professional, civic, government, and community groups regarding Metro plans, policies, programs, and services to build trust and foster marketing strategies and initiativesDirects the development of extensive customer-related and/or marketing programs and studies, including evaluations of existing and proposed services, costs, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and service area impactProvides support for all internal and external marketing partnersLeads Metro′s marketing participation in regional and external events, activities, and functionsLeads department′s participation in and management′s responses to internal and external investigations related to department-specific mattersPrepares and presents written and oral reports to Board members, Metro management, government officials, key stakeholders, community groups, and the general publicRepresents Metro before public officials, private entities, professional, civic, governmental groups, and community and special eventsRecruits, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff; manages staff human resources issuesCommunicates Metro's safety vision and goals; oversees the implementation of agency and departmental safety rules, policies, and procedures; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all assigned employees.Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried outMay be required to perform other related job dutiesRequirements For EmploymentA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
