Hours of operations:

VA Business Hours: Outpatient Clinic Services for Gastroenterology, Endoscopy Procedures. Inpatient Gastroenterology consultations for Medical Care. Regular hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, Weeknight Call - M/F 4:30pm to 8am, Weekend/Holiday Call - Sat./Sun. 24/7, call back and OT. Currently, normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Off-hours Coverage:

On-call services for after-hours coverage (4:30pm to 8:00am) and 24-hour coverage for weekend and Federal Holidays. In an emergency or on-call situation, physicians must respond within 15 minutes. Must be able to report to VA Facility within 60 minutes of receipt of the phone call. Be available on-call during all hours when the Lebanon VAMC clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call contractor's physician(s) must always be available for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians.

Duties:

Provides clinical gastroenterology services including procedures, consultations, and other related Gastroenterology procedures, to patients with diseases and ailments of the digestive system, including vital treatment of common and serious conditions such as cancer. Diagnose and treat disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, intestines, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas. Administer procedures, tests, and treatment for patients including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, hemorrhoid banding, biologic infusion, and other diagnostic tests. Be present on time for any scheduled clinics/procedures as documented by physical presence in the clinic or Endoscopy suite at the scheduled start time.

Qualifications:
  • Meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform as a Gastroenterology Physician.
  • Be Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements.
  • Have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license in one of the 50 states in the U.S. or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. A license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
  • Have and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification.
  • Meet the minimum standards for Continuing Medical Education (CME) to remain current.
  • Provide a copy of a current DEA certificate.
  • Provide an NPI number.
  • Provide an AMBI certificate.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensations:
  • $407,000 - $433, 885 annually
  • 3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 11 paid Federal holidays per year
  • $1,500 CME annually
