Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert with Security Clearance

Specific tasks and duties for the Software Engineering SME include: • Identifying and describing Cybersecurity risks, differentiating between common and unique, novel, or complex risks
• Analyzing and assessing Cybersecurity risks
• Advising attorneys on any Cybersecurity questions related to risk and potential measures that could mitigate these risks
• Identifying potential strategies for mitigating and/or managing Cybersecurity risks associated with all matters
• Clearly documenting and communicating analysis in written products and oral briefings
• Conducting any other activities required to assist attorneys in identifying, assessing, communicating, mitigating, or otherwise evaluating or describing any Cybersecurity questions or matter associated with the mission
• Monitoring classified information systems for intelligence products that are relevant to active cases and identifying new or unique information in these products
• Ensuring information from classified intelligence systems is captured in case management systems, collaboration and communication tools and information dashboards, and disseminated to the appropriate people in the office
• Identifying and describing key Cybersecurity topics, trends, and discussions and their relevant to or impact on the mission
• Identifying resources and experts outside the organization who can provide additional insight into topics related to the mission
• Assisting with development and execution of unique research, long-term projects, and data-driven analysis that improve the execution of the mission
• Developing materials to communicate, educate, and document analytic work to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Cybersecurity SME Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM field.
• Advanced degree in a technical field related to a core area of technological interest preferred.
• May substitute 2 years additional work experience for an advanced degree.
• 5-10 years of work experience in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Widely recognized certifications, such as a CISSP, may substitute for 2-5 years of work experience, depending on their level and relevance
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent technical focused research and analysis in an area related to Cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated analytic writing and communication ability.
