Overview VTG is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical, program management, and analytical support to PEO IWS 80 Small Surface Combatants Office. This technical and program management support covers the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Combat System external communication interfaces and interoperability development and certification tests (IDCTs) supporting Integrated Management, Strike Group Test Requirement Working Group, and Architecture team. This position is located in Washington, DC. What will you do? * Provide technical and program management support to the IWS 80 Major Program Manager (MPM), Deputy MPM (DMPM), and Primary Assistant Program Managers (PAPMs). * Provide expertise in combat systems integration, interoperability assessments, and strategic planning to oversee, plan, conduct, lead and accomplish a broad range of technology assignments. * Responsible for participating in research or development within a specified technical or operational area. Provide guidance and assistance in coordinating tasks and ensuring technical adequacy of the product. Ensure compliance with technological standards throughout the project. * Assist with research and analysis of program requirements, procedures, performance, schedule, and risks. * Assist with development and execution of systems engineering trade studies, performance metrics, systems requirements, mission analysis, CONOPS, and risk management plans. * Develop and review briefing materials, technical manuals and publications, and process documentation. * Represent PEO IWS 80 interests at meetings. Prepare and deliver technical presentations on combat system issues, risks, and alternative solutions. * Assist in providing strategic planning, acquisition planning, contracts management, and financial management inputs. * Prepare summary reports to keep IWS 80 leadership informed of issues and progress on actions. * Ability to effectively communicate with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Program PAPMs, APMs and to defend analytical results verbally and in writing. Do you have what it takes? Required Skills: * Active DoD Secret Clearance. * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Understanding of weapons and/or automated information systems, including experience supporting systems engineering technical reviews and the DoD acquisition process. * 20+ years of NAVSEA combat system experience. * Demonstrated ability supporting diverse programmatic and technical tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Proficient with MS Office Suite. * Ability to think analytically, creatively, and critically.
